# Billing and usage

> Understand Adam plans, daily and weekly included usage, team pooling, add-on funds, and usage-limit behavior.

Open your account menu, select **Settings**, and choose **Billing** to see the current plan, usage, payment controls, and charge history for the active workspace.

Prices, included usage, promotions, and model availability are configured in the product. Use the Billing screen as the source of truth for the amounts available to you today.

## Plan structure

| Plan family | How included usage works |
| ------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Free** | A daily included pool that refreshes at midnight UTC. |
| **Personal Pro / Personal Max** | Weekly included usage for one person, plus the daily pool shown in the usage bar. |
| **Team Pro / Team Max** | Per-seat subscription with included usage pooled across team members. |
| **Enterprise** | Custom managed terms, which can include plan allowance and workspace-level guardrails. |

Some older plan names may still appear in historical receipts or accounts, but new plan selection uses the current options shown in Adam.

## How usage refreshes

* The free daily pool refreshes at **00:00 UTC**.
* Paid included usage refreshes each **Monday at 00:00 UTC**.
* On a paid plan, the daily pool is still available and is folded into the usage display.
* Team usage is pooled; adding a paid seat increases the team allowance according to the current plan configuration.

Adam presents included usage as a percentage so model prices and routing can change without turning every task into a manual token calculation.

<Info>
  A model tier or capability shown in the task composer can depend on the plan, remaining usage, and current product policy. Check the picker for what is available before starting consequential work.
</Info>

## When included usage runs out

A task already running is allowed to reach a safe stopping point. New paid work can pause until one of these becomes available:

* the daily or weekly pool refreshes;
* the workspace upgrades;
* add-on funds are available; or
* automatic reload adds funds under the limits you configured.

Depending on current policy, a high-cost model tier may become unavailable or step down before all other work stops. Adam shows the applicable state in the composer and Billing screen.

## Add-on funds and automatic reload

Paid workspaces can add funds to a separate wallet when those controls are enabled. The wallet is used after included usage under the billing policy shown in Adam.

Automatic reload can add a chosen amount when the wallet falls below a threshold. Set a reload limit that matches your expected spend and review charge history after changing it.

<Warning>
  Automatic reload creates real charges. Team owners and admins should review the payment method, threshold, amount, and any reload cap together.
</Warning>

## Manage the subscription

Use **Settings** → **Billing** to upgrade, change seats, add funds, manage automatic reload, review charges, or open the subscription-management portal. Available actions depend on whether the workspace is personal, team, or enterprise-managed and whether you are authorized to manage billing.

If a promotion or referral is available, apply it through the current product flow and verify its effect in Billing. Do not rely on an older advertised price or allowance.

For a charge you do not recognize, include the workspace name, date, and receipt or charge identifier when emailing [hello@adam.new](mailto:hello@adam.new). Do not send full card details.
