# Find and export files

> Search, preview, filter, download, and export files created or uploaded across Adam tasks.

The **Files** page brings together files uploaded to tasks and outputs created by Adam in the active team.

## Open the Files page

Select **Files** in the sidebar. Files can be shown as a grid or list and grouped by task or chronologically.

The page supports file types including CAD, code, configuration, data, documents, images, PDFs, presentations, spreadsheets, audio, and other formats.

## Search and filter

Use the search field to match file names and related task titles. Refine the result by:

* file type;
* **By Adam** or **My uploads**;
* originating platform when available; and
* task grouping or chronological grouping.

Select a task title beside a file to return to the conversation that produced it.

## Preview a file

Select a file card or list row to open the available preview. Preview support depends on the format. Some Office files use a derived PDF rendition so you can inspect them without downloading the original.

<Note>
  A preview is not a substitute for opening a native CAD or engineering file in its authoring application when you need to validate editability, feature history, units, or manufacturing semantics.
</Note>

## Download or export

Use the action on a file card or row to download the original or choose an available export format. Markdown files expose document-oriented export options; other files use the formats supported by their viewer.

## Keep outputs traceable

Ask Adam to use descriptive filenames and include revision or purpose in the name when a task will produce several related outputs. Keep the source request and review discussion in the same task so a teammate can trace why a file exists.

<Tip>
  When Adam modifies CAD, request a short change report alongside the editable file: changed features, preserved constraints, validation performed, and anything still requiring engineer review.
</Tip>
