# Adam documentation

> Learn how to use Adam as an AI CAD copilot across tasks, files, CAD applications, PLM systems, and team workflows.

Adam is an AI CAD copilot for hardware teams. You work with Adam through tasks: persistent conversations where you can describe an engineering goal, attach context, connect the tools involved, and review the resulting files or changes.

## What you can do in Adam

* **Work in CAD and PLM.** Inspect or edit supported Onshape documents, work beside an open Fusion design, connect desktop applications such as SolidWorks, and inspect or update Arena records.
* **Research and create.** Search the web, work with a browser, run code in a sandbox, and produce documents, presentations, images, data, and other files.
* **Keep work organized.** Return to prior tasks, search generated files, share a conversation, and schedule work to run later or repeatedly.
* **Work as a team.** Use shared team space, pooled usage, member roles, and team billing where your plan supports them.

| **New Task** | Start a conversation and attach the initial context. |
| **Tasks** | Find running, completed, shared, or scheduled tasks and continue the work. |
| **Files** | Search, preview, filter, download, or export files from tasks. |
| **Integrations** | Connect CAD, PLM, messaging, storage, productivity, and custom tools. |
| **Scheduled** | Create and manage one-time or recurring agent runs. |
| **Settings** | Manage your account, team, notifications, billing, memory, and appearance. |
