# Set up Adam

> Configure your account, team, notifications, memory, and the integrations you need before starting engineering work.

Adam creates a personal team when you first sign in. You can use that space on your own, join an existing shared team, or create a shared team through the team-plan setup flow.

## Learn the navigation

The sidebar contains **New Task**, **Tasks**, **Files**, **Integrations**, and **Scheduled**. It also shows recent tasks. Use the team switcher near the bottom of the sidebar when your account belongs to more than one team.

Open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar and select **Settings**. Settings opens as a modal over the current page.

## Configure settings

| Tab | What you can manage |
| ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **General** | Light, dark, or system appearance on the current device. |
| **Account** | Your account details, account-management link, sign-out, and account deletion. |
| **Team** | Shared-team profile, seats, invitations, member roles, and membership. This tab is hidden for personal teams. |
| **Notifications** | Browser and product notification preferences. |
| **Billing** | Current plan, usage, subscription, payment method, add-on funds, codes, and referrals. |
| **Memory** | Short-term context, durable memories, named entities, and past sessions associated with the team. |

<Warning>
  The **Debug** tab is restricted to local, staging, and internal Adam accounts. It is not part of normal product setup.
</Warning>

## Connect your tools

Open **Integrations** and connect only the systems required for your work. The setup depends on where the application runs:

* Onshape uses an account authorization flow in the browser.
* Fusion uses the Adam add-in installed inside Fusion.
* SolidWorks and other supported local applications use the desktop connector.
* Arena uses an authenticated server-side connection.
* Other cloud applications use the connection flow shown on their integration card.

See [Integrations overview](/guides/integrations) before connecting CAD so you choose the correct path.

## Check your team and usage

If you are joining a shared team, confirm the selected team in the switcher before starting work. Tasks, files, integrations, usage, and billing are resolved in the active team context.

Open **Settings → Billing** to see the current plan and usage window. Do not rely on a saved screenshot or a plan amount quoted elsewhere; prices, included usage, and model access are runtime-configured.

<Check>
  Setup is complete when the correct team is active, the required integration reports connected, and you can start a task with the necessary files or live application context.
</Check>
