Connect Altium Designer to inspect and edit native PCB layouts, schematics, symbols, and footprints, capture design views, and run configured output jobs.

Set up

  1. Install Altium Designer on your Windows PC.
  2. Install the Adam desktop connector and sign in to pair that computer.
  3. Open one Altium Designer session under the same Windows account, then open the document you want to work on.
  4. Select Integrations → Altium Designer in Adam and test the connection.
Nothing else needs installing: the connector runs scripts through Altium Designer itself. Altium Designer must be licensed and able to run scripts.

Working on a design

Adam reads the focused document and checks its path before edits. Keep the intended document open. Review changes in Altium and save the native project deliberately. Full electrical and design-rule verification requires the relevant Altium checks and reports. For manufacturing exports, open the appropriate .OutJob, inspect its available output containers, and ask Adam to run the ones you need.

If a script does not finish

An operation can complete after a connection timeout. Ask Adam to check its operation status before making another edit. If Altium’s script debugger is paused, stop the script, inspect any partial changes, and restart Altium before reconnecting. Never repeat an uncertain edit just because its response did not arrive. This is an Adam integration, not an Altium product.
