Solid Edge is a preview connection. Native workflows are awaiting qualification on a licensed Solid Edge installation. Check the requested operation on a representative copy before adopting it for your workflow.
Before you begin
Use a Windows PC with Solid Edge installed and licensed. Prepare a copy of a representative part, assembly, or drawing for your first connection check. No separate plug-in installation is required for the bundled bridge.Connect
1
Pair the Solid Edge workstation
In Adam, open Integrations > Solid Edge and follow Desktop Connector setup. Reuse the existing pairing if this workstation is already connected to your Adam account.
2
Open the representative document
Keep Solid Edge and the connector running on the same Windows PC. Open the copy you intend to use for the check.
3
Check document access
Verify the application’s connection status and use the read-only request below. A paired device alone does not confirm that Solid Edge or the requested operation is ready.

Try a representative workflow
Once read access works, choose one small operation on the copy and define its expected result before running it. Inspect the native document afterward and retain the task output if the operation fails. Use CAD modeling for a change-and-verification checklist. If it does not connect
- The device is online but Solid Edge is unavailable: open Solid Edge and its document on the paired Windows PC, then check the application’s status.
- A tool cannot read or change the document: retain the application version, document type, requested operation, and error for support.
- An operation stopped partway through: inspect the document before retrying.
