Connect CATIA V5 to read the active document, edit parts and products, run CATIA Automation scripts, capture the viewer, and exchange CAD files. The Desktop Connector includes the CATIA V5 bridge.

Before you begin

Use a Windows PC with CATIA V5 installed and licensed. Open the intended document and make sure its referenced parts are accessible. This connection supports CATIA V5; it does not establish support for CATIA V6 or 3DEXPERIENCE.

Connect

1

Pair the CATIA workstation

In Adam, open Integrations > CATIA V5 and follow Desktop Connector setup. Use the existing pairing if this workstation is already connected to your Adam account.
2

Open the intended part or product

Keep CATIA V5 and the connector running on the same Windows PC. No separate plug-in installation is required for the bundled bridge.
3

Verify the active document

Confirm the integration’s connection status, then use the read-only request below to identify the document and target part.
Check the CATIA V5 document

Use the connection

Name the target part or product, the feature to change, and the geometry to preserve. Ask for an update and a check of the resulting dimensions. Follow CAD modeling for an edit or documentation and release for a reviewed handoff.

If it does not connect

  • The workstation is online but CATIA is unavailable: open CATIA V5 and its document on the paired Windows PC.
  • A product contains unresolved parts: resolve the references in CATIA before requesting changes to dependent geometry.
  • The wrong part would be edited: explicitly identify the product and target part, then repeat the inspection.
  • An edit was interrupted: inspect the document before retrying because the operation may already have changed it.
